Nosh @ Bangsar
Another super long due post, it was a birthday celebration gathering for Michelle if not mistaken 😛 Nosh located at Jalan Telawi, Bangsar was her option, a place notorious for its decadent array of desserts.
The place ~ bright and neat layout with colourful framed drawings on the walls. A very comfortable atmosphere partnered with simple wooden tables and chairs, I can expect nothing but a laid back and relax dinner ahead 🙂
Beverages
Tagliatelle Carbonara with Smoked Duck (RM 34.00++)
The tagliatelle was sufficiently bathed in rich and silky luscious cream laced with cheese, black pepper and herbs then crowned with a raw egg yolk which really enhanced the creaminess of the dish. I was happy with the smoked duck too, no matter the portion or the taste 🙂
Tagliatelle Carbonara with Mushroom (RM 32.00++)
There are 3 options of ingredient for the tagliatelle carbonara, either the aforementioned smoked duck or beef bacon and the mushroom as photo above.
Pollo Nel Curry with Vegetable (RM 22.00++)
The homemade strozzapreti prepared with a lovely spicy curry sauce, a brilliant fusion flavors of Asian and Italian.
Chicken Roulade (RM 34.00++)
A sizable portion of chicken roulade stuffed with spinach & mushroom sit on bed of tomato based sauce. The chicken was a tad dry and bland but luckily the saving grace of that tomato sauce had slightly elevated the flavors. The pumpkin mash was a welcoming alternative to the common mashed potato.
Braised Beef Cheek (RM 42.00++)
The beef slow cooked till extremely tender in a coffee-infused sauce. It sound really interesting and the slightly bitter coffee sauce indeed complemented the beef in a very fabulous way in my books. The gravy not only had a distinct coffee taste, there’s even some small coffee beans in it, interesting!
Curried Lamb Shank (RM 41.00++)
We were a little caught off guard when it arrived, not expecting it to be such a large portion. The meaty lamb shank was cooked in aromatic local spices which rendering the smorgasbord of taste and the meat was falling-off-the-bone tender, result of long hours gentle cooking I assumed. The lamb shank also topped with gremolata for a lemony finish.
How can we leave without trying their renowned dessert?
Dessert 2 Selection (RM 29.00++)
There was some dessert platters on offer when our visit, choose any 2 dessert in the menu at RM 29.00++ or any 3 at RM 41.00++
The Berry Harvest
Placed on the green tea sponge cake was a gorgeous tart filled with rich custard cream and Grand Marnier infused berries. The richness of the cream was balanced with the sourness of the berries and the overall flavors was further enhanced by the sprinkles of white chocolate. I suggest to get a bit of everything and pop in your mouth and let the combination of flavors work the magic!
Peanut Butter Heaven
The peanut butter cheesecake was light to the palate, sits atop of crunchy chocolate crumbles and salty chopped peanuts and drizzled with caramel. A very delectable combination and definitely an indulgence worthy of every calorie it packed ^__*
Verdict: Food and presentation wise however the prices are on the higher side and it would not a regular casual dining place but it is definitely one of the places on my list when comes to special occasion especially when craving for some good desserts.
