Kepong Ulu Fried Pan Mee @ Kepong Ulu

This little eatery without any signage that located in a residential house always runs on full capacity whenever I came to this area for makan makan. It really intrigues me to find out what’s the good food (?) they are serving, so we paid it a visit on Sunday for breakfast.

 

We arrived circa 10am and managed to secure the last vacant table near the entrance. There are less than 10 tables scattering around the frontage of the house and the cooking station is placed at the back.

 

The menu on the wall, showing a short list of food and beverages offered included fried noodles, soup & dry noodles. 

 

The homemade pickled spicy garlic was a rather unique condiment to jazz up your noodles.

 

Fried Pan Mee (small – RM7.50)

Hokkien Mee (small – RM7.50)

Basically both fried noodles were rather saucier and tasted the same. They were well braised in a dark glistening sauce laden with meat slices, vegetables and the essential pork lard that boosted the aroma and taste several notches up. 

 

Mung Bean Tong Sui (small – RM1.80)

It’s decently good and not too sweet. Different types of Tong Sui are rotated daily, included Barley Fuzuk Egg Tong Sui, Red Bean Tong Sui and Mung Bean Tong Sui.

 

Verdict: This seem like a very popular place for breakfast/brunch, which evidently seen from the crowd that thronged the place. Food was satisfying and prices are fair, making this place another nice example of worthwhile neighbourhood restaurant in this area.
