Ming Kee Seafood Noodle 民记啦啦米粉 @ Taman Usahawan Kepong
I was with my sis, niece and mom for mattress shopping at Taman Usahawan Kepong and decided to settle our lunch at Ming Kee Seafood Noodle which located diagonally across the street.
Started as a stall in one of the Kopitiam in Kepong 10 years ago, Ming Kee Seafood Noodle now had moved to their own shop and opened another outpost at Damansara Utama/Uptown.
The restaurant is dressed in a mixture of deep orange and wood tone, furnished with simple tables and chairs, illuminated by ceiling track lights in yellowish hue.
The menu is straightforward with Lala Meehoon in various of soup base (RM14.99 – RM16.99) and with option of addition Tiger Prawns (RM19.99 – RM21.99). There are Kam Heong Lala (RM22.99) & Kam Heong Tiger Prawns (RM24.99) for ala carte order, as well as some snacks such as Fried Meatballs (RM7), Spicy Fish Cake (RM7) and Lobak (RM7). The beverage options are limited to soft drinks and Chinese herbal drinks (RM2 – RM6).
Red Date Snow Fungus (RM6) & Longan Tofu (RM6)
Both were rather bland tasting.
Fried Bean Curd (RM7) & Taiwan Sausage (RM9)
Hua Diao Lala Meehoon (RM14.99)
Mom took one sip of the broth and exclaimed “Hou Sek”! The broth was intensely flavoured, with a well judged hit of punchiness from the Hua Diao Wine and splashed with a rousing spiciness came from the chopped deep fried ginger and bits of bird’s eye chili.
There was generous portion of hard shell clams (Kepah?) with plump flesh were fresh and sweet in the noodle. Long Men Meehoon was used which can retain their springy texture even after sitting in the broth for some time.
Tom Yum Lala Meehoon (RM14.99)
The Tom Yum broth had a good kick of spiciness and sourness.
Cheese Lala Meehoon (RM16.99)
The cheesy broth was equally good as well, it was rich, thick and lusciously cheesy.
Verdict: Definitely a place that I’ll happy to return with hubby and Sam.

I’d never order cheese lala but since you say it’s good, maybe kena try one of these days!
KY, you should, if you like cheese. 🙂
Hou sek indeed! I had a positive experience when I went to the Uptown branch.
PH, I read again your post when I was writing this, we both like their soup but I’m luckier because I didn’t detect any broken shells in my bowl of noodle.
Ok, you can count me out for the last la la dish…hehehe! 😀 This broth of this la la noodles looks very different from the ching-type of soup….it looks thick and robustly flavoured. Yeah, I think these are clams or kepah (looks meaty) which is different from the elongated la la.
Kris, haha, I know, it’s too cheesy for you, and PH too I think!
