Restoran Big Big Wantan @ Damansara Jaya

This wasn’t my initial plan to have breakfast here but the Wonton Mee place that I wanted to go is closed on Sunday, so we had to settle with the next option that available. By the way, I needed to get my Wonton Mee craving fixed on that weekend, so this Restoran Big Big Wantan was the nearest that I can find online in the Top 10 Wonton Mee recommendations in Klang Valley.

The interior was neat, airy and clean.

One of the attractions of the restaurant is you can get the cheapest Wonton Mee in town, at RM5.50. Is it true? ◔_◔

The menu offered their specialty – Wonton Mee, paired with variety of sides like Char Siew, Wonton, minced pork, minced pork sausage, shredded chicken, priced from RM5 to RM12.50. There were rice dishes such as Nasi Lemak, ginger scallion pork rice, Tom Yum fried rice, King Pao Chicken rice, sweet and sour pork rice, etc, priced from RM8 to RM8.50. Choices of snacks also decent like dumpling (soupp/fried), blanched vegetables, mushroom chicken feet, Hakka fried pork belly, onion omelet, fried chicken wings (from RM5.50 to RM13), just to name a few.

Soup Char Siew Wonton Mee (Small – RM8.00)

I like the honesty of the owner! (^^)b

Hubby wanted to get the Char Siew Wonton Mee (with only Char Siew without the Wonton), but the lady (I assumed she is the owner) didn’t recommend him to order that because he will be given extra 3pcs of Char Siew only for paying extra RM3.50.

Okay, go back to the Wonton Mee. The noodles was slightly too soft for our liking and the texture of the lean Char Siew didn’t quite live up to our expectation as well. The broth was just all right.

The Wontons were those typical smallish version, filled with adequate of pork filling. Nothing to shout about.

Dry Char Siew Wonton Mee (Small – RM8.00)

The sauce for the dry noodles did not hit us with huge surprise too. Although there was a distinctive pork lard aroma and flavour, the overall taste of sauce concoction was just average and wasn’t among some of the better tasting I’ve eaten before.

Special Minced Pork Sausage (RM6.00)

The texture was too firm and the flavour was far from being impressive too.

Verdict: The Wonton Mee didn’t impress us as much as I’ve expected because it is being listed as one of the Top 10 Wonton Mee to try in Klang Valley.
