S’mores @ Plaza Arkadia, Desa Park City

Hi, did anyone miss me? After two continuous overseas trips since middle of May till early June, I’m back in track! I went to Bandung for a 4d3n company trip and followed by 10d9n Melbourne trip with my family. So you can imagine the post-travel blues and those emptiness and sadness on my first day of work on last Friday, 7 June. (luckily it was followed by two more rest days on weekends, LOL)

I’ll blog about both of the trips but since Bandung was on ground arrangement by travel agency, so I’ll summarize all the places I went in just 2 or 3 posts. While my free and easy Melbourne trip, I’m still in the midst of arranging more than 1300 photos, so please give me some times or you may check out my Instagram (@choiyen) for more of the travel photos.

Okay, go back to today’s post, S’mores which is hubby’s favourite restaurant at Plaza Arkadia, Desa Park City. It’s his first option whenever we have our morning jog at the park at Desa Park City Waterfront.

Located on ground floor of Block H, facing the fountain at the courtyard, S’mores, is an American style restaurant with homey rustic setting. A mixture elements of bricks, woods, metal and tiles being associated into the furniture and furnishing. Further accentuated the place are plenty of potted plants, posters and wine bottles as decoration on one of the wall, everything have made up to an energetic vibe that suitable for friends and family gathering or happy hour session after a long working day.

Outdoor seating are ample too.

Weekend Brunch available from 11.00am to 3.00pm.

Long Black (RM9.00)

Big Breakkie (RM24.50)

The Big Breakkie platter consisted of egg of your choices (sunny side up/scrambled), bacon, pork sausage, mushroom, spinach, baked beans, tomato (we had cheese baked and grilled for two different visit) and toast.

Not the best I’ve tried, apart from the standard processed food such as bacon and baked beans, the egg was decently prepared and I love the juicy flavourful pork sausage.

Pork Chop (RM30.00)

It was a fairly thick piece of charcoal-grilled pork chop sit on bed of mashed potato, served along with brown sauce and corn salad in spicy mayo dressing.

The pork chop was nicely grilled beautiful charred marks, not entirely dry nor succulent, it was rather good to my non fussy standard.

Nasi Haram Babi Berempah (RM24.00)

The Non Halal Nasi Lemak featuring pan fried pork loin, fragrance rice, sambal, boiled egg, fried anchovies, peanuts, cucumber slices and Papadum.

The pan fried pork loin berempah looked legit from its appearance, perfectly browned with some herbs being cooked together. It was quite delicious indeed, showcased satisfying dimensions of flavours and texture. It had a nice savoury taste from the marinade as well as alluring herbaceous aroma.  Texture wise, slightly crusty on the outer and the flesh was decently moist.

Smoked Salmon Pizza (RM34.00)

The pizza was rustic with scorches of crispy edges and thin textured. The topping of smoked salmon, avocado, onion ring, tangy tomato sauce and luscious melted cheese proved to be a fail-proof combination that can win hearts of all ages.

The little one is also well taken care of. S’mores offers kids menu filled with tempting looking dishes priced at RM10.00 which comes with free soft drink or chilled juice (mango or orange)

Chicken Little (RM10.00)

Oink Oink Mac and Cheese (RM10.00)

Portion was just nice to feed Sam and the taste was actually not bad at all!

Verdict: As far as the food was concerned, we had no complaints on what we’ve tried on our several visits. Good environment, attentive service, reasonable price range and not far from our home, a place that we would like to visit to further their menu.

  • Welcome back!

The food looks very delicious and yummy! I will bookmark this place as my new office will be in that area.

  • The big brekkie look so much nicer in the menu. LOL! I like the names of the dishes especially the Nasi Haram Babi Berempah 😀

  • another long-surviving veteran of kl’s restaurant scene – i remember s’mores originally back in bangsar south, but i haven’t been to their desa parkcity outlet. would be happy to order the nasi lemak here! 😀

  • Anything haram, I want…kekeke! 😀 It’s nice for a change to have babi goreng berempah instead of the usual ayam. ^_~ P/S: Missing for two weeks, I knew you must be travelling…two trips back to back, very hebat-lah you! 😉
