Suki-Ya @ IPA Shopping Centre

My foodie friend has been telling me that Suki-Ya is one of her most frequented shabu-shabu places and I finally dined in here last month at one of its many outlets at IPC Shopping Centre.

Opened its first outlet at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur on 2011, Suki-Ya is a “Eat-All-You-Can” Shabu Shabu restaurant (pork-free) which has expanded to have nine branches nestled in shopping malls across Klang Valley.

Price

Lunch – 11.30am to 5.00pm

Adult: RM34.80++ & Kids (5 – 11years old): 50% off buffet price

Dinner – 5.00pm to 10.00pm

Adult: RM41.80++ & Kids (5 – 11years old): 50% off buffet price

The restaurant is in white theme and the dining area is sectioned into several areas, framed by wooden furniture and furnishings.

Their Healthy Bar was stocked with assorted of vegetables and mushrooms such as Baby Bok Choy, spinach, carrot, pumpkin, lettuce, broccoli, Shitake mushrooms, Enoki mushrooms, Oyster mushrooms, Eryngii mushrooms and many more. There were also small selection of other ingredients like fried bean curd sheets, bean curd, clams, sausages, mealballs, mung beans noodles and udon. Not entirely extensive I would say, but efficient decent for the price charged.

Ready-to-eat food of sushi also available.

Beverages are included in the buffet price.

Sauce counter – feel free to create your own sauce concoction with the sauces and condiments offered such as Ponzu, Gomatare, Wafu Dressing, Sichuan Sauce, chopped chilies, coriander and garlic. Fresh pasteurised eggs were provided and it is great as dipping sauce for Sukiyaki.

Suki-Ya offers 5 choices of soup bases – Shabu-Shabu (a light tasting konbu broth), Sukiyaki (sweetened soy sauce broth), Kimuchi (mildly spicy soup made with authentic Kimchi base, spicy miso and various vegetable base), Miso and the latest addition of Tomato soup.

The tomato soup base was quite intensely flavoured, it goes well with any meat and vegetables. The Kimuchi on the other hand was quite diluted.

FREE FLOW of thinly sliced beef, lamb and chicken to be enjoyed with the Shabu Shabu.  We like the lamb and beef.

Help yourself to the soft serve ice cream to complete your dining experience at Suki-Ya. We had chocolate, Matcha and a mixture with a few toppings, either served in cup or waffle cone.

Verdict: Comfortable dining environment, option wise, I would have hoped to see more variety of ingredients and soup bases. Service was attentive and prompt during our visit.

Revisit? Most probably yes, since it’s quite suit my carbo-less diet. (・ω・)v
