Coco Steamboat @ Old Klang Road, K.L
Takes pride in their signature pork bone soup, Coco Steamboat is one of our must visit restaurant whenever we were at shopping mall nearby. Hubby is a huge fan of the pork bone soup base and it never fail to lure him for more visits.
Look at the dinner crowd on weekends, we will always make sure to reach the restaurant earlier like 6pm+ before the place swarmed by patrons. Although the place is really huge which can easily accommodate more than 1000 pax, but advanced reservation is still recommended to avoid the queue. (FYI, reservation is not allowed after 6.30pm) This place is equipped with air-cond and wall fans to make sure a comfortable dining experience. Despite the massive crowd, the service was quite prompt and attentive.
Another private dining area which I believe reservation is a must.
Induction cooker on every table.
Jasmine Tea – Pot (RM 3.50/pax)
Set Menu (RM 18.80 / pax, minimum 2 pax/order)
The set is sufficient for 3 of us (2 adults + 1 kid), or else we’ll add in one or two ala carte item if Sam has good appetite that day ^__^
2 types of chili dipping and crispy fried garlic.
Coco Double Stewed Soup (Whole Bone) (RM 20.90 / pax)
Cater for maximum of 5 persons, RM 1.00 / pax for addition pax. Other soup base option are Fish Head Clear Soup & Tomato Soup but we only tried their signature pork bone soup for our previous visits.
Broth is the essence of any good steamboat and we are totally agreed on this! The extremely great pork bone soup is the main factor that never stop to tickle our taste buds warrants more and more visits. The soup base originally came with some white radish, Chinese cabbage, fried yam sticks and fried bean curd sheet (Fu Chuk) as well as the crucial giant pork bone(s).
The broth appeared in milky colour which is result of long simmering of the bones which expelled its natural essence to the broth. It is intensely flavored and good enough on its own before adding any condiments or ingredients. It is also packed with collagen and very addictive, we will ask for refills for at least twice 😛
Verdict: Definitely one of the best steamboat I’ve ever tried and highly recommended in my book.
